CAPE TOWN: South Africa captain Faf du Plessis accepts the new World Test Championship (WTC) will include 'legitimate setting' to the five-day game and has supported the presentation of the worldwide class as a stage forward for the game.
The title begins on Thursday when England have Australia in the main Ashes Test in Birmingham and will see the best nine five-day countries go head to head over a two-year time span, scoring focuses dependent on their prosperity and coming full circle in a last at Lord's in June 2021.
"For the last, while we have ached to have something to play for that gives legitimate setting to Test cricket," du Plessis said in an official statement from Cricket South Africa.
