The government on Wednesday affirmed a climb in oil costs by up to 10 percent following an expansion in unrefined costs in the worldwide market.

The cost of petroleum was expanded by Rs5.15 per liter; Rs5.65 per liter for rapid diesel; Rs5.38 for lamp fuel oil; and Rs8.90 for light diesel oil after Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority sent a rundown to the administration, looking for the climb.

In the event that the proposal is affirmed, the cost of oil will bounce to Rs117.83 per liter from the current Rs112.68, mirroring an expansion of 5 percent.

The new costs will produce results from August 1.

In July, the legislature had chosen to not expand the costs of oil based goods.

In June, the legislature had expanded petroleum costs by Rs4.26, while the cost of rapid diesel was expanded by Rs4.5.
